8.   Restriction of use of name

  1.  

    (1)   Except with the written consent of the Minister, a person shall not use the name “Caribbean Examinations Council” or any name so nearly resembling it as to be likely to deceive in connection with any trade or business.

    (2)   A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $1,000 or to imprisonment for 6 months or to both.
