6.   Conditions for registration

  1.  

    (1)   A club shall not be registered under this Act unless it complies with all the following conditions—

    1.  

      (a)     that there should be a defined subscription payable by members of the club in advance;

    1.  

      (b)     that correct accounts and books shall be kept showing the financial affairs of the club;

    1.  

      (c)     that no intoxicating liquor shall be sold or supplied for consumption off the premises of the club;

    1.  

      (d)     that intoxicating liquor shall only be supplied on the club premises at the request of members of the club and that a visitor shall not be supplied with intoxicating liquor unless on the invitation and in company of a member and that member shall, upon the admission of such visitor to the club premises, enter the name and address of the visitor and his or her own name in the visitors' book and the date of the visit;

      (e)     that a person shall not be allowed to become an honorary or temporary member of the club or be relieved of the payment of the regular entrance fee or subscription, except a person possessing certain qualifications defined in the rules or subject to conditions and regulations prescribed therein;

      (f)     that a person under the age of 16 years shall not be admitted a member of the club, unless the club is one primarily devoted to some athletic purpose, and in the latter case that no intoxicating liquor shall be sold or supplied to any member or person under 16 years of age;

      (g)     that it shall be kept open only between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. daily except on Saturdays and days preceding public holidays when it may be kept open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. of the succeeding day.

    (2)   It is lawful for the Director of Finance and Planning, by written licence, on any special occasion, to extend the opening hours to such hours as he or she may specify on such licence.

A fee of $2.40 shall be charged for such licence.
