32.   Prohibition against unlawful drilling

  1.  

    (1)   A person shall not—

    1.  

      (a)     without the permission of the Governor General, train or drill any other person to the use of arms or the practice of military exercises;

    1.  

      (b)     be present at any gathering of persons for the purpose of training or drilling them to the use of arms or the practice of military exercises unless the permission of the Governor General for such training or drilling has been obtained; or

      (c)     submit to being trained or drilled to the use of arms or the practice of military exercises or be present at any gathering for the purpose of being so trained or drilled unless the permission of the Governor General for such training or drilling has been obtained.

    (2)   A person who contravenes the provisions of subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years.

    (3)   The provisions of this section shall not apply to the training or drilling of persons or bodies of persons approved by the Governor General or under and in accordance with the training established for and connected with the Police Force, the Fire Service or the Prison Service or the Cadet Corps.

    (4)   In this section military exercises mean exercises, manoeuvre and other tactical campaigns of a training-nature ordinarily carried out by military forces (“military forces” here meaning connected with or belonging to land, sea or air forces).
