On receipt of a complaint, the Unit shall take any steps or measures which appear to it desirable for the purposes of obtaining or preserving any evidence which relates to a complaint and may to that end obtain the assistance of any police office in charge of the police station where the police officer whose conduct is the subject matter of the complaint, is stationed.
