24.   Revocation of gaming distributor and gaming manufacturer licence

  1.  

    (1)   Where Cabinet revokes a gaming distributor licence—

    1.  

      (a)     a new gaming device or associated equipment distributed by that distributor shall not be approved for use in Saint Lucia;

    1.  

      (b)     if the reason for the revocation concerns a previously approved gaming device or associated equipment the approval granted for that gaming device or associated equipment is also revoked;

    1.  

      (c)     a new gaming device or associated equipment distributed by that distributor shall not be distributed, sold, exchanged, transferred or offered by person for use in Saint Lucia.

  1.  

    (2)   The Board may levy upon each gaming distributor an examination fee to cover the costs associated with the inspection of a gaming device or associated equipment.

  1.  

    (3)   Where Cabinet revokes a gaming manufacturer licence—

    1.  

      (a)     a new gaming device or associated equipment manufactured by that gaming manufacturer shall not be approved for use in Saint Lucia;

    1.  

      (b)     if the reason for the revocation concerns a previously approved gaming device or associated equipment the approval granted for that gaming device or associated equipment is also revoked;

    1.  

      (c)     a new gaming device or associated equipment made by the gaming manufacturer shall not be distributed, sold, exchanged, transferred or offered for use in Saint Lucia.

  1.  

    (4)   Where Cabinet revokes a gaming machine licence—

    1.  

      (a)     a new gaming machine shall not be leased by the gaming machine lessor;

    1.  

      (b)     if the reason for the revocation concerns a previously approved gaming machine, the approval granted for that gaming machine is also revoked;

    1.  

      (c)     a lease agreement made by the lessor prior to the revocation shall not be renewable at the end of that lease agreement.

    (5)   A person who contravenes subsection (1)(c) or 3(c) commits an offence and upon conviction is liable to a fine not exceeding $150,000 or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 15 years or both. (Amended by Act 18 of 2018)
