If such dealer or the person in charge of the dealer's place of business or premises fails to produce any such book or refuses to allow extracts to be made therefrom or if any entry which ought to have been made has not been made or if any entry therein is false in any particular such dealer or person in charge as the case may be commits an offence and is liable to a fine not exceeding $500 or in default of payment to 6 months imprisonment.
