(1) Any officer may require a distiller at any time when distillation is not proceeding to empty and cleanse any receiver, worm-tank and worm.
(2) In such case the receiver must be kept empty after cleansing until the officer has finished his or her measurement or examination of it, and the water must be kept out of the worm tank for 2 hours or until the officer has finished his or her examination of it, whichever first happens.
(3) If a distiller contravenes any part of this section he or she shall incur a penalty not exceeding $2,000, and the officer may draw off the water or any portion of it and keep it drawn off for as long as he or she thinks necessary.
