(1) A person shall, not later than 6 months after the birth of a child, apply to register the birth of that child. (Substituted by Act 10 of 2014)
(2) Notwithstanding subsection (1) the birth of any child may be registered after the expiration of 6 months—
(a) with the written authority of the Registrar;
(b) in accordance with any Regulations made for that purpose; and
(c) upon payment of the prescribed fees.
(3) The fact of the written authority having been given under subsection (2) must be entered in the Register of Births.
