2.   Power to make Orders in Council facilitating International traffic

  1.  

    (1)   The Governor General may, by order, for the purpose of enabling effect to be given to any international convention in respect of Saint Lucia, provide—

    1.  

      (a)     for the grant and authentication of any passes, certificates or other documents relating to vehicles or to the drivers of vehicles which may be required for purposes of travel abroad by persons resident in Saint Lucia;

    1.  

      (b)     for modifying in relation to vehicles brought temporarily into Saint Lucia by persons resident outside Saint Lucia and in relation to persons so resident who are temporarily in Saint Lucia, any enactment relating to vehicles or the drivers of vehicles.

    (2)   An order under this section may provide—

    1.  

      (a)     for modifying any such enactment as aforesaid in respect of matters appearing to the Governor General to be incidental to or connected with the matters regulated by any such international convention;

    1.  

      (b)     for the payment in respect of any such documents as are mentioned in subsection (1)(a) of such fees as appears to the Governor General to be appropriate having regard to any services performed in connection therewith in pursuance of the order.

    (3)   Any modifications of the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act made by an order under this section have effect as if they were contained in that Act.

    (4)   Any order under this Act may be varied or revoked by any subsequent order under this Act.
