2.   Interpretation

In this Act—

“contract” means a contract for—

1.  

   (a)     the construction, alteration, repair or demolition of public works;

1.  

   (b)     the manufacture, assembly, handling or shipment of materials, supplies or equipment;

1.  

   (c)     the performance or supply of services;

“public contract” means a contract involving the expenditure of funds by any department of the Government of this Island, or by any local government body;

“local government body” means the Castries Corporation and the local authorities established under the Local Authorities Act.
