(1) The Director shall maintain a register to be known as the Register of Volunteers.
(2) A person who wishes to volunteer for the purposes of assisting in an emergency or a disaster shall submit his or her name to the Director for registration as a volunteer and the Director shall if he or she sees fit register in the Register of Volunteers the person as a volunteer.
(3) The Chairperson of each district and national committee shall submit in writing to the Director on or before 31 May in each year the names of the members of their committees and the Director shall include the names of these members as volunteers and register their names in the Register of Volunteers.
(4) The Director shall annually publish the names of all volunteers registered in the Register of Volunteers in the Gazette.
(5) A volunteer who exercises the duties assigned to him or her under this Act in good faith shall not be liable for injury to persons or loss to property caused as a result of those duties.
