(1) The Minister may, on being satisfied that the presence of any inmate or person detained in a correctional facility, lock-up, or legalised police cell is required at any place in the interests of justice or for the purpose of any public inquiry, in writing under his or her hand, order that such inmate or person be taken to the place and at the time stated in the order.
(2) The Director or person in charge of a lock-up or legalised police cell, as the case may be, shall cause the person named in the order mentioned in subsection (1) to be brought up as directed and shall provide for that inmate or person's safe custody during his or her absence from the correctional facility or otherwise.
