9. Punishment for offences
Unless otherwise provided a person who commits an offence under this Act, on summary conviction, is liable for a first offence to a fine not exceeding $240 or to imprisonment with or without hard labour for a term not exceeding 3 months and for a second or subsequent offence to a fine not exceeding $480 or to imprisonment with or without hard labour for a term not exceeding 6 months, but so that a person shall not be punished twice for the same offence.
